Brush and Floss
It is best to start off by thoroughly brushing your teeth and flossing. Flossing will help remove remaining bacteria and food particles out from between your teeth that could cause bad breath.

Next, clean your tongue with a tongue scraper. Your tongue harbors bacteria which, if not properly cared for, can cause bad breath as well.
Sugar-Free Gum
For a quick fix, maybe after a garlic filled dinner, chew sugar-free gum. The sugar-free gum will freshen your breath and help remove bacteria from your mouth.
Stay Hydrated!
Be sure to drink plenty of water to prevent dry mouth. When you don’t produce enough saliva, it is harder to wash away bacteria and food particles that are stuck between your teeth. Staying hydrated and brushing regularly will help wash out the bacteria and food particles that linger.
